CASCADES CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!
With two regular season games remaining in the Lady Warriors' 2016-2017 basketball season, they now claim single ownership of the Cascades Conference Championship. The Lady Warriors defeated Manchester at their building Thursday night by a score of 59-55. Congratulations ladies! You make us all very proud to be Warriors! We wish you continued success as you progress through the remainder of your season. The Lady Warriors' next game is Tuesday, February 21, when they will host Blissfield. Go Warriors!

Emily Fonzi Heading to WMU for Cross Country and Track
Congratulations to Grass Lake High School Senior Emily Fonzi who has signed a National Letter of Intent to run cross country and track at Division I Western Michigan University during the 2017-2018 school year. Well done Emily, and good luck!
Drew Allen Competes in National Event
GL Freshman Drew Allen qualified for, and ran in, the 50th Annual Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, California,this summer. He competed in the 1500 Meter run for 13 and 14 year old boys. Go to http://bit.ly/2aED46s for the Grass Lake Times story. Nice job Drew!
Grass Lake Girls Track All-State Athletes
Congratulations to our Lady Warriors who were named to the MHSAA Division 3 All-State Track team for the 4x800 relay (4th and a new school record) (Jessica, Sarah, Emily, and Rebecca) and Ella, who was 5th in the 200m, Well done ladies! Middle Schoolers Have Excellent Showing at MEGASTAR Invitational
The Grass Lake Warriors Middle School Track Team had a remarkable showing at the MEGASTAR meet in Shepherd, MI, to close out the season.
Members of the girls' team set individual school records in the 2-mile (Kailee Sandoval 12:20.28a) and the 800 meter run (Katie Colesa 2:32.70a), while the 4x200 relay team of Katie Colesa, Madalyn Campbell, Trinity Ortbring, and Faith Patania placed first and broke the school record with a time of 1:56.58a, the 4x400 relay team of Madalyn Campbell, Kailee Sandoval, Faith Patania, and Trinity Ortbring placed first and broke the record set earlier this season with a time of 4:37.85, and the 4x800 relay team of Katie Colesa, Trinity Ortbring, Kailee Sandoval, and Faith Patania also broke their own record with a time of 10:57.02a. Kiki Black earned a medal in the 55 meter hurdles (10.09a), as well!
Members of the boys' team set an individual school record in the mile (Drew Allen 4:40.71a), while the 4x800 team of Jacob Campbell, Brennen Bargesser, Chase Horvath, and Drew Allen placed first and broke the school record with a time of 9:36.41a. Drew Allen also placed third in the long jump (17'4), Samuel Pancake earned a medal in the shot put (38'2.5), and Michael Ball set a personal record and earned a medal in the pole vault (8'6).
Great showing and payoff for all of your hard work and dedication this season, GLMS Warriors!
Lady Warriors Successful at Selby Meet
Congratulations to our Varsity Track 4X400 Girls team who broke a school record at the Selby Meet last night with a time of 4:07:36. Team members are Rebecca Mahlmeister, Emily Fonzi, Jessica Sherwood, and Ella Sulliman. The 4x800 team also competed finishing 1st with another sub ten minute time of 9:57. Ella Suliman finished 3rd in the 200m and Madi Holcomb finished 5th in the pole vault to round out the evening. Great job ladies!

Lady Warriors Track Team Takes 2nd in the Conference
Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Track Team for taking 2nd place in the Cascades Conference Meet Tuesday night. Our athletes took 2nd in the 3200 relay, 1st in long jump, 4th in shot put, 4th in pole vault, 2nd and 5th in the 100, 1st in the 1600, 1st in the 800, 1st in the 200, 5th in the 300 hurdles, 1st in the 3200 and 1st in the 1600 relay!!! Well done ladies!
Girls Track Team Takes 3rd at Regionals
Coach Jennifer Taylor sent a recap of the Girls Track team's performance at Quincy for today's MHSAA Regionals. It was a great day as the team looks forward to the Conference Meet.

Girls 3200M Relay Team Smashes School Record
Congratulations to Sarah McEllis, Ella Suliman, Emily Fonzi, and Jessica Sherwood who just broke the Grass Lake High School girls track record for the 3200 meter relay and came in first place at the Quincy Regionals with a time of 9:57.9. This automatically qualifies them for the State meet. Well done ladies! This is a huge accomplishment!! We are very proud of you and the hard work you have done to achieve this benchmark.
